Hood River SWCD

Ellen represents the Columbia Plateau.  She has worked as a program manager for the Jefferson County SWCD for 3 years.  Jefferson County's agriculture is diverse, valuable, and at risk due to drought.  We have the second largest irrigation district in Oregon (~58,000 acres), which has supported 150 different crops in the last 30 years, including half of the hybrid carrot seed planted worldwide.  We also have extensive rangelands with cattle operations.
